Join the JYL Student Volunteer Leadership Team
JYL (Junior · Youth · League) is a youth-focused nonprofit organization that brings the community together to help young people build confidence and grow.
We are building a Student Volunteer Leadership Team – a group of motivated middle and high school students who want to help lead and shape JYL’s programs.
As part of this team, you will:

Help plan events and projects
-
Support events and community programs
-
Share JYL’s story through media and creativity

Work with other students and adult mentors
-
Build real leadership and teamwork skills
You can choose one or more areas that fit your interests:
1) Planning Team
What you’ll do:

Help come up with ideas for JYL events and youth programs
-
Help organize event details (schedule, performance order, reminders, etc.).

Help prepare information for performers and families
-
Share feedback on how to make events better for everyone
This team is a good fit for you if:

You like organizing and planning
-
You enjoy solving problems and thinking ahead
-
You’re curious how real events are created from start to finish
2) Media Team
What you’ll do:

Take photos and short videos at events (with guidance and permissions)

Help create simple posts, captions, or short videos for social media

Share ideas for posters or digital flyers
-
Help tell JYL’s story and highlight youth voices
This team is a good fit for you if:

You enjoy photography, video, editing, or design
-
You’re interested in social media and digital storytelling
-
You like capturing moments and being creative
3) On‑Site Team (Event Operations)
What you’ll do:
-
Help with check‑in, directions, and audience seating
-
Help guide performers to the right place and time
-
Help set up and clean up event spaces
-
Welcome guests and represent JYL in a friendly, respectful way
This team is a good fit for you if:

You like being active and helping people in person
-
You are calm, dependable, and good at following instructions
-
You enjoy being in the middle of the action during events
You don’t need to be an expert to join—training and guidance will be provided.

4) Public Relations
What you’ll do:

Help share information about JYL with schools, community centers, and local groups

Help invite students and families to join our events and programs

Support simple fundraising activities (for example: donation tables at events, small campaigns, etc.)

Help say thank you to supporters (thank‑you cards, emails, photos, etc.)

Share ideas on how JYL can connect better with the community
This team is a good fit for you if:

You like talking to people and making new connections

You care about community and want more people to know about JYL

You are polite, responsible, and comfortable reaching out to others
